Never Quite The Same

Project Completion: August 17, 2016

Five or six years ago, Marti O’Brien was feeling burned out. She was overwhelmed, and pushing her friends and family away. Late one sleepless night, she took her dog Obie on a trail run, and had an encounter with an owl that stunned her. She said that after that experience, she was never quite the same. She owes it all to the Power of Nature. Now one of Marti’s favorite ways to unwind, trail running holds a dear place in her heart. In this short film, join Marti on a run as she explores her favorite parks in West Michigan. She talks of the importance of conserved parks, and their ability to help relax and inspire. She knows that Lake Michigan is a world treasure, and strongly believes everyone should have the opportunity to explore it. “Nature really means the world to me. It’s my happy place, my creative place, my meditative place, and definitely my healing place. And I know I’m not alone.”
